Instead of relying on a traditional all-in-one website builder, the store uses a dedicated frontend, backend, database, payment system, and media storage setup to create a flexible commerce platform that can grow over time.
The storefront is built as a custom frontend application, allowing full control over the user experience, design, product pages, cart flow, and checkout journey. This gives the brand more flexibility than a template-based ecommerce system and makes it easier to tailor the site around future product ranges, content, and conversion-focused improvements.
Behind the storefront is a fully functional Medusa-powered commerce backend. This provides product management, collections, pricing, regions, inventory, customer data, carts, checkout, and order management. The backend includes an admin dashboard where products can be added, edited, priced, and managed without needing to change code.
The store also connects to a live database for persistent product and order data, with production-ready image storage using AWS S3. This means product images uploaded through the admin panel are stored reliably and served through public cloud storage rather than depending on temporary local hosting.
Payments are integrated through Stripe, giving the store a secure checkout system capable of handling real customer transactions. The checkout flow connects the frontend cart to the backend payment provider, allowing orders to be created, processed, and managed through the commerce system.
The final setup includes separate deployment environments for the storefront and backend. The frontend is deployed through Vercel for fast global delivery, while the Medusa backend and database are hosted through Railway. This headless setup separates the visual storefront from the commerce engine, making the platform easier to maintain, extend, and scale.
