Background & Purpose
Brackish Security is a cybersecurity firm specializing in offensive security services—penetration testing, attack surface management, red teaming, IoT and API security, and more. They help organizations identify vulnerabilities before they are exploited by attackers.
The goal of this project was to modernize the Brackish.io website design and build by improving visual appeal, aligning the experience with the company’s brand personality, enhancing usability, and elevating the overall user journey.
Objectives
The redesign was centered around several core objectives:
- Modern, professional aesthetics that reflect Brackish’s technical expertise and thought leadership in cybersecurity.
- On-brand experience consistent with Brackish’s identity, values, and position in the market.
- Improved clarity & messaging to help users quickly understand services like penetration testing, attack simulation, and IoT security.
- Enhanced usability and responsiveness across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
- SEO & performance improvements to support discoverability and faster load times.
Key Design & Development Improvements
1. Updated Visual Language
- Introduced a clean, contemporary layout with whitespace, improved typography, and a cohesive color system that strengthens brand presence.
- Refined header/navigation so visitors can clearly find services, about information, blogs, and contact points.
- Enhanced visual hierarchy to make key information (like core services and “Get a Quote” calls to action) more prominent.
2. Brand-Aligned UI/UX Enhancements
- Consistent branding elements — colors, button styles, icons, and section layouts — were unified site-wide to build a memorable experience.
- Converted dense technical content into easier-to-scan sections, using bullets, section headers, and visual breaks to improve readability.
- Simplified menus and reduced clutter, improving discoverability of offerings like IoT penetration testing and red teaming.
3. Service Pages & Messaging
- Structured content to make Brackish’s value proposition clearer: proactive security testing before threats strike.
- Framework for individual service pages (e.g., network penetration testing, API testing) was polished to guide users through the problem → solution → action flow.
4. Responsive & Performance-Optimized Build
- The site was rebuilt using modern responsive techniques, ensuring that layouts adapt smoothly across all screen sizes.
- Images, scripts, and styles were optimized for performance, reducing load times without sacrificing visual quality.
- Accessibility considerations (readability, navigation clarity) were incorporated to improve overall user experience.
5. Technical Structuring for Growth
- Improved content hierarchy and page structure that supports future expansion (e.g., adding new services or research posts).
- Prepared the platform for scalable content updates (blog posts, case studies, sample reports, resource downloads).
- Ensured clear pathways for user engagement, such as contact forms and “Get a Quote” callouts.
